Picnic in the Park

On Thursday I brought the shades to the annual company summer picnic...
Rhea Sunshiiine - at first a Shades skeptic, Rhea quickly becomes infected with the Comraderhood spirit and poses with her ice cream.

His name is Charleton and he's from Charleston.

even with the Shades, I'm just horribly lousy

the name is Bond

Mr. Bond sits at a junction between the two greenway trails in Bond park, I like to think he's pointing at me and saying "you go girl" as I run by

he has a photo shoot scheduled with the Shades for next week - for that extra touch of suave mystique.

note the caption:
"Never a Problem Just a Challenge"
sounds like a true Bond to me

Mister Crister in NC--June Edition...

In a week of initially unplanned comraderhood-member unity:

(Note: both of us are in this picture... another amazing, magical feature of the shades!)

1) Beach time: the shades were goggled over and admired by everyone at Wrightsville and Carolina Beaches on the blessed days of June 10th and 11th. A random beach girl who came up and asked to borrow my phone thought they were super chic... little did she know!

2) Campsite craziness at Carolina Beach State Park campground (we're already planning a Bacchus-Vulsin gathering there for Fall)

3) The excitement continued and mounted for our post-beach stop in downtown Raliegh.... well.... you already know that story if you've been doing your comraderhoomework

4) And the quadruple + 1 (I don't know how to say that for 5) reunion in my Carrboro backyard for shish kabobs, blueberry cornbread and status(and toe)-winning salad....

(What would an album of ours be without some facial-expression attitude?)

In a nutshell, it warmed all our souls and lit all our lives.... may the Comraderhood venture onward!

two truths and a half truth

1. "Best Lunch Hour Ever"
The Shades bring Joy and Comraderhood to downtown Raleigh.

2. "You're a Cancer too?! What does that say about us?"
iphone -> Wikipedia -> Cancers are prone to be "over eccentric"
Our response: no. such. thing.

3. "yep yep yep, I'm hardcore"

The Phantom Tollbooth...on I-40

no Shades, but an escapade nonetheless
